ONE DOWN

So I plan to do 3 walks before the Cumbrian Challenge 2019 just to get back into my fitness as had been out of training for quite a while now and it has shown on my body. Added to this, I have had another operation on my right knee which was meant to be my good knee but due to overcompensation over the years for having an osteoarthritis stage 3-4 left knee has taken it's toll on my right knee.

On the 13th of January 2019, I did my first event in London to get things going for 2019 taking part in the 20km Winter Walk 2019. It took me 3 hours 10 minutes to complete the event and an overall position of 41st which was not bad for someone who had just started training again 2 weeks prior to the walk.

I am now looking forward to a week of camping up in the District to get some much needed hill walking and to try and test route out bfore taking part in my second event in March.

I will be updating my page with blogs of my future events and training in preparation for the CUMBRIAN CHALLENGE 2019.

Helping Fellow Veterans

I am grateful and honoured joining the Hive Centrica team for the Cumbrian Challenge 2019 around the Lake District alongside the teams of veterans who are getting their lives back on track thanks to Walking With The Wounded.

Most people leave the military with little or no issues but there is a small minority that suffer and struggle along the way  once leaving the forces and I/we need your help.

Walking With The Wounded support the veterans who are struggling with their mental health, who are hard to reach, socially isolated, homeless, in police custody... men and women with little to look forward to but who want to get back into society and employment – which is at the heart of what we do.

Please help me and my team hit our £2k target. Every £675 can enable a veteran to access 1-2-1 private mental health therapy within an average of 4 days of referral. Imagine that. Your kind donations today will help the Charity cater for those fellow veterans in need of much help today and support them back to a more successful life for them and their families.

Thank you so much in advance for your support and your kind donations.
