The start to my training plan

All went to plan and great weather too in buttermere

Training walk Saturday 22nd buttermere

Well it had to come and the training started today despite a nasty fall in.the bath this week and  very sore ribs I motivated myself and so glad I did.Easy going really as we enjoyed a great walk around Buttermere clicking up 8.73k.

I love this walk as it's flat but stunning views and always live the chatter with the girls and not forgetting Paddy the dog . We actually realised we had dine the lake on exactly the same weekend last year so it seems it may become an annual date.

Our team are doing a sterling job on the fundraising and still 2 months to go.our 2k target well in sight.

I'm supporting our wounded. Are you with me?

As most of you who know me personally, this is very close to my heart having a current serving Son in the British Army in  the Royal Signals Core. He  has given up the last 13 years of his life to serve for his country, which has made me a very proud mum and also my daughter in law who also serves in the same Regiment. My 3 beautiful  grandchildren are also part of this life and I very rarely get to see them due to postings. They have many close friends who they refer to as their family supporting each other at all times, but seen many of these colleagues and friends suffer after leaving the army through PTS, loss of life , loss of Limbs and often their dignity adapting to civilian life ,  recently they lost a close friend down to PTS.

I myself have lived the Army Life many years go when starting my married life, so know full well what it is like to intergrate back into civilian life.

My father and his  family members before him have also given their oath too, some loosing their lives.

I've joined a team taking on the Cumbrian Challenge - a big old day hauling ourselves around the Lake District alongside teams of veterans who are getting their lives back on track thanks to Walking With The Wounded.

My ask is quite simple. Please dig deep, or sign up a team to take us on.

Why? We're the lucky ones with jobs, families, homes. Most people leave the military without any issue, but for a small minority it isn't so easy.

Walking With The Wounded support the veterans who are struggling with their mental health, who are hard to reach, socially isolated, homeless, in police custody... men and women with little to look forward to but who want to get back into society and employment – which is at the heart of what we do.

Please help me and my team hit our £2k target. Every £675 can enable a veteran to access 1-2-1 private mental health therapy within an average of 4 days of referral. Imagine that.

Thank you so much in advance for your support.
