Training Session - 06 May 19

17 Km in 2 hours 54 mins. 209 M of elevation.

Not long to go to the big day. Bit worried about the elevation on the day as it is more than climbing Snowdon. Think I'm going to be sore the day after!

Training Session - 24 Mar 19

25 Km  down in 4 hours 3 mins with an elevation gain of 216m. Going to be a lot tougher on the day but wanted to get some distance in.

Training Session 16 Mar 19

Good session today. 21.6 Km,  with 410M of elevation gained. That's about 2/3 distance but 1/4 of elevation on the day, so lots to do yet. Also, the going underfoot here is a lot easier than it will be in Cumbria.

Feet a bit sore but that is to be expected as I was trying to push the pace.

I'm supporting our wounded. Are you with me?

I've joined a team taking on the Cumbrian Challenge - a big old day hauling ourselves around the Lake District alongside teams of veterans who are getting their lives back on track thanks to Walking With The Wounded.

My ask is quite simple. Please dig deep, or sign up a team to take us on.

Why? We're the lucky ones with jobs, families, homes. Most people leave the military without any issue, but for a small minority it isn't so easy.

Walking With The Wounded support the veterans who are struggling with their mental health, who are hard to reach, socially isolated, homeless, in police custody... men and women with little to look forward to but who want to get back into society and employment – which is at the heart of what we do.

Please help me and my team hit our £2k target. Every £675 can enable a veteran to access 1-2-1 private mental health therapy within an average of 4 days of referral. Imagine that.

Thank you so much in advance for your support.

Very proud of your taking part in such a worthy cause. Met one of the WWTW reps late last year doing a promo at the Met Office, Lost a leg after being blown up in Helmand by a IED. Two of the patrol were killed and the fourth was thrown clear and uninjured as I recall. He has been able to rebuild his life only through support from WWTW.
